DynDNS for iPhone IP - is it technically impossible with AT&T Wireless?

I use my iPhone to provide remote support. I have been VPNing into my office network so that the support would appear to come from there. That works fine, but I'd rather not have to do the extra step.

I've been looking for an application that would update DynDNS.org when my IP changes. What I've found is that the assigned IP address can change multiple times in a minute, so I figured that I would need to wait for Apple to add that to the underlying iPhone OS.

Now, I'm wondering if the nature of 3G and EDGE is such that the DynDNS concept CANNOT work.

Can someone more knowledgeable than I weigh in on the issues and potential outcomes?

Thanks - Bob

I have been playing with DynDNS on my iPhone just today. I can update my IP address at their web site on my iPhone and access my network through firewall rules I set for my dynamic hostname. In the 2 hours, I have been testing diffferent things. The IP address on my iPhone has not changed, even during my lunch when my phone was not in use. This is with 3G, I don't know if EDGE changes the IP address more often, or if changing cells, change the IP, but at least here my IP is not changing multiple times in a minute.
