scratches because they put the headphones on the bottom

I think the uproar over the scratches may be because they put the headphone jack on the bottom. Why did they do that, it seems stupid.

Besides, if you put it in your pocket then that puts the screen down there where your change is.

"Imagine how this case will look while hanging in your neck. Wonder why people are not demanding better product from apple."

do you guys actually think the reason why the headphone jack is on the bottom so you can wear it around your neck? instead of flaming apple for putting the jack on the bottom why don't you actually stop and think about why.... do you honestly think it would be possible to have the headphone jack AND the screen in the same place while achieving an ultra thin ipod? there's no way you could have the jack behind the screen and have the nano be as thin as it is. it has nothing to do with the lanyard.

Having had the nano for a few weeks, I think it was a major design flaw to put the headphones on the bottom.

Not only does it put the screen where your change is, but have you tried running with it? With the cord coming out the bottom, it goes toward your body instead of away from it, and this minor difference makes it a lot easier for the headphones to get caught up as you move.

Whoever said it makes more sense because you pull it out of your shirt pocket--I can see the sense in that, but honestly it's just as easy to pull it out of a shirt pocket right-side up.

They perhaps should have switched to the smaller-style mini-plug like cell phones have, if space was the issue.
