My Canon EOS 400D isn't reconized after 10.5.5 (HELP)

Hello,

My canon 400D isn't reconized anymore since the 10.5.5 update, iPhoto starts when i connect the camera , but you don't see the device to show up. (also not in the Finder)

When i start Aperture it also fails, it stops responding at the startup picture.

Does anybody have a solution, i need to use the camera professionally, so i really hope apple is working on this?

Same Problem here. I deleted the Raw receipts in HD/Library/Receipts by searching for raw and deleting the two files that came up. But I then still had no luck installing 2.1. Does anyone know what else might be going on here that is keeping us from being able to downgrade?

It seems to have worked for me!

This is the extract that worked.......

+"This might work (from Clem who figured it out):+

+Delete the file: System/Library/CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle then (re)install the previous version.+

Hey I have done all the above and at last it all works correctly. So Apple you have a flaw in your latest raw upgrade! Cheers for the resolution though you guys it was driving me mad!!

I was having issues with the colors and white balance being blown out after the update with my Nikon D200 NEF RAW files in iPhoto. I did the fix mentioned above, and so far my RAW files are coming up correct.

Been having a nightmare with this as well.

Turn on my 400D iPhoto opens and starts to download images... then NOTHING!

The fix for me was:

Delete: System/Library/CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle
Delete: HD/Library/Receipts/RAWCamera.pkg

Then download and install http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/digitalcamerarawcompatibilityupdate21.htm l

Reboot and your done.

Hello, Im having the same problem as everyone else. I've tried to use the fix method previously mentioned but I cant find the: system/library/coreservices/rawcamera.bundle . I found and deleted the one in "receipts" how do I find the system one?

Hi

When I plug my Canon 400D the red light of the CF card working on the camera starts flashing for a few seconds, then it stops. Nothing whatsoever happens on the computer though. No iPhoto launched, no Aperture, no Device Manager, nothing.

What's wrong with my camera or mac?

Sorry to go on about this subject but can anyone tell me is it safe to upgrade to the 2.3 update now after doing all the above or will my camera etc not work again? Cheers!

Just to let every one know and clear this topic up once and for all the new upgrade for camera raw compatibility 2.4 clears up all the above problems. I took the chance and loaded it up and everything works fine! Happy New year!!
