I have two of the recalled adatpers -- one came with the phone, and one which I bought from the apple store on line.

The Web form takes your serial number, but will not let you specify a quantity. So it will only issue one replacement. You cannot access the web form a second time, because your serial number can be used once.

The web page suggests if you are in this situation that you contact support by phone.

Support's automated line will not direct you to an operator, but insists on helping you "troubleshoot". Once it figures out you are calling about the adatper, it tells you to go to the web page.

Can you say: "recursive"

After I screamed "Agent" enough, it finally tells you there is a 20 minute hold time.

Has anyone had success ordering a second replacement?

No, in fact, I'd like to order about 30 of them for my company. We have tons of iPhone 3G users and sending 30+ individual packages seems like a big waste to me. I also called and got the "20 minute hold time estimate". I might call back later and see if I can.

I got through to the hold time by just saying "power adapter" when it asked what feature of the iPhone I was calling about. This took me to support on Accessories, which dumped me into the wait queue. The first time I called, I said "power adapter exchange" on the system directed me to the web page. Just wanted to let you know how to get through the automated agent...

I asked for Sales -- no wait time. (They've always got someone ready to take your money.)

Anyway, she tried to help -- I was on the line for 30 minutes. Eventually, a manager in applecare service intervened, and set me up. I just got a confirmation email, looks like he had to use a workaround -- seems to have set it up as a self-repair.

How's that for nuts?

I should have just tried to find the time to drive to the apple store. Oh well.

Steve, if you have 30 serial numbers, you can use the web forms. 30 packages is wasteful, but one thing it wont be wasting is your time on the phone.

My problem was that I only have one serial number, since my second adapter was bought as an accessory.

I can't believe they don't have a process worked out for this, but it seems to be the case. When I called, the rep had to consult with 5 different people to come up with a way to replace it!
