Running the newly updated iTunes on my Mac; the one with Genius support (not sure if I actually like that feature or not); anyway, I was in the midst of synching with my iPod shuffle when my Mac indicated that I needed to hold down the "Power" key, which I did. Upon restarting, however, the Mac seems to be running okay but now my iTunes application refuses to load and I get the following error message:
The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (13010).
Any thoughts on a fix? Thanks in advance.

The exact same thing just happened to me. First I had a kernel panic while an iPod touch was connected, during a retrieval of Genius data from the iTunes store. Then I saw the error message you reported whenever I launched iTunes, and the application would quit.
