Why do they call the 20GB iPod the HP iPod?

hp produced some of the ipods for apple but I think it failed and no one buy the hp made ipods and they now have stopped.

HP used to purchase Apple iPod's and rebrand them with HP logos. The strategy was to get places like Radioshack (who carry HP/Compaq) to sell iPods. They did not sell that well, and although one can still buy an HP iPod from some places, HP has officially stopped buying them from Apple. This info was the last bit that I have heard about it.

HP was brought into the loop in attempt to improve performance on a Windows OS. I wasn't aware that HP had stopped their venture with iPods, learn something new every day.
