How do I turn off playlist shuffle on my ipod classic?

Question

How do I turn off playlist shuffle on my ipod classic?

i want it to play the list as it comes - on my itunes it lists the songs in the order they come on the cd but when i play on my ipod it shuffles - can i turn shuffle off? thanks all

macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

yep, you can. with the playlist playing on your classic, keep pressing the centre button. it will cycle through firstly the scrub bar (where you can quickly scroll through a track), then the song rating (where you assign a number of stars to the song currently playing) then one more click on the centre button will bring you to the shuffle settings, where presumably yours will be set to 'songs'. simply choose 'off' and click the centre button to confirm and this should turn shuffle off.

You should also be able to set the Shuffle setting from the settings menu off the main menu of the iPod.
