How to Install & Configure Samsung CLP-510N?

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed the software driver from Samsung website for CLP-510N but unable to find the printer under the add printer option.

I have then configured the IP address for the CLP-510N in a XP PC. Key-in the IP under the IP in add printer, it came out as generic post script driver, instead of Samsung's driver. Also the Samsung printer installed in the MacBook is no where to appear in this process.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Problems with Samsung's printer configuration and/or driver should be directed to their tech support. This is not a Mac issue especially since you have the printer connected to a Windows machine. If the Windows machine isn't configured to share the printer it won't be usable on the Mac.

An LPR configured printer requires that you locate the printer driver. If you wait for a driver to appear automagically, it won't. Select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "add printer" to find articles on setting up a printer on a Mac.

For clarification, the printer is not connected to a Windows PC. It is a stand-alone network printer of which I used Windows PC to purely configure its IP address.

It is a screwing fact that Samsung is working toward having this problem solved. I have directed my enquiry and request to Samsung in Malaysia and Singapore. They are looking into it right now.

Well, you've certainly clarified that it is not a Mac issue but an issue with the printer or printer driver. I have nothing to do with deleting the discussion. Lots of things may relate to Apple products, but Apple prefers that the Discussions restrict themselves to Apple product support, not third-party product support as in your particular case. If you need clarification of this then please read the Terms of Use by clicking on the Help & Terms of Use link in the right sidebar of this page.

Understand I'm not trying to give you a hard time. All that I told you before was that these Discussions are not meant to provide support for third-party products. If you felt that offended you, then accept my apologies.
