How 2 Replace a "Preference Pane"?

You can add preference panes in:
/Library/PreferencePanes

You can remove non-Apple preference panes by right-clicking.

And, if they are missing. Get Pacifist...

then extract what you need from your Install Disk.

Double clicking on a Pref Pane , say on the Desktop will usually install it better than moving it there manually.

Hopefully I'm not breaking protocol too much, I'm a Mac n00b. I have a similar problem to this one. My Time Machine preference pane dissapeared from System Preferences. I restored it by double clicking on the file in my MacBook library over the network, but now that it shows up in the System Preferences it doesn't open after I click on it. What do I do next?
