Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-85J doesn't work with Win XP

God help me but I must admit to using Windows XP occasionally.
I thought I would write a letter to my local Mayor and translate it into Spanish.
At the same time I would copy some movies I took of flooding around my house caused by an obstruction he had put up and make sure it all worked on his computer, 95% sure would be a Win PC.
To my astonishment my CD/DVD writer doesn't work at all, bearing in mind I wouldn't ever have needed it since I upgraded to Leopard and don't know whether it dissapeared in one of the upgrades since.
I have a Bootcamp 1.4 driver disk. I copied the contents to the XP hard drive but that has no suitable drivers.
It works fine in OSX.
Any Ideas ?

Hi Tofi,

sorry to hear about the new flooding. Hope all is well.

when you are in Windows click on 'Start' - 'Control Panel' - 'System' - 'Hardware' - 'Device Manager'.

Is the CD-Drive listed in there, maybe with a yellow mark ?
If so, right-click on it and choose 'Properties', then click on the Driver Tab and try the Repair function and/or the 'Use actual driver'.

To gain acces to the BootCamp Drivers on the Leopard DVD (which are 2.0 version, btw.) you can use a Windows PC from a friend and copy the DVD content on a Memory Stick or this procedure http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060823101421566 for access while in OSX.

Regards

Stefan
