Tissue scratches?

I've got a white iPod Nano. While still deciding on a cover and waiting for some to actually come to Australia, I've kept the sticker that's on the front, that came on it, and just using a tissue so that the polished metal at the back doesn't get scratched. But I've heard that even tissues or clothing can scratch the iPod Nano. Is this true?

If you haven't already disposed of it, keep it in the plastic in which it was shipped. (Easily modified).
Don't even touch it until you aquire some sort of protection. I have read in these threads that "scratches add character", I don't agree, but I understand the sentiment.

Well, here are some options:

Interesting...

I am wearing glasses since more then 30 years. Not one of the approx. 10 glasses I have owned so far has been visibly scratched by using various tissue. But the Nano screen does.

I am still sad when I look at my both Nanos. Reading some of messages here gives me the impression that a gear designed to carry in your pocket should better not used pior to buying expensive protecting equipment. Personally, I have a different understanding of how MP3 players should be constructed.

We agree and we bet Apple has already quietly ask for a different formulation for the clear covering. One of the downside of being the first in line to buy 😟

Didn't the car buying public finally caught on that one should never buy the first model year of a car if one cared more about reliability than look?

I guess we gadget geeks are relearning that lesson...at least we have a way to vent and to get the companies to listen a bit more now 🙂
