iTunes error -3256

I have itunes 8 and 10.5.5 and I have 3 sets of remote speakers around the house
at first if I tried to link up to all 3 I would get an error "-3256 unknown error message" on the third one then last week if I tried to have 2 remote speakers the same error came up and now no remote speakers are working it come up with the same error they all can be seen in iTunes ( on the drop down) and all can be seen by airport utility. all remote speakers link with their own airport express running 6.3, they all join my wireless network no problems and have a steady green light displayed. is this a network problem? ( it did start before I went to iTunes 8)

Had the problem 3256 since upgrade to 8.0 and continue to do so with 8.0.1 Nothing helped. Firmware, firewall, nothing. Still managed to stream to airport express and enjoy music by selecting a Radio channel first. Connection is then created (sometimes retry)and then back to my Library. It is not a proper solution and don't know if it will help your end but I enjoyed music all the way since 8.0

Same here. I have tried everything from the firewall settings to deleting itune splist files. The radio trick is the only thing that sometimes works. very, very, very annoying 😟
