Video on Camera not work - no green light

Since you have AppleCare, just take the computer to the repair facility. The repair techs there will be in a postion to tell you what is wrong & why after they examine the computer.

I just discovered I am having the same problem, and I have NO idea why this is happening. When I open PhotoBooth, it's a black screen with a line through the camera icon. ***? This is very upsetting... 😟

Hello phraid. I tried what you did, but it was not successful. After loading in Safe Mode, I tried to open Photo Booth. The response was:

"Photo Booth cannot open. The graphics card installed in this computer does not support Photo Booth."

Absolutely bizarre.

I checked with the computer store on my campus, where I bought the machine, and for which I have purchased AppleCare. My contact there advised me to do the following:

call : 1-800-MY-APPLE
ask for Warranty Service
tell them about the problem
let them trouble shoot
ask them for a Warranty repair Case Number

And from there, I would take it to the repair centre on campus.

Your thoughts on why this might be happening? As I said, it's absolutely bizarre. I've had no indication that the camera was failing.

Try to boot OS X in Safe Mode (hold shift down after starting your Mac until the apple with the loading ring appears). Please tell me if it solves the problem.

You cannot test your isight cam in Safe Boot, you should start in Safe Mode and the reboot your mac an try again in normal mac osx
