rsync: chgrp ... failed: Operation not supported (45)

Hi,

I just bought a Time Capsule to back up my G3 and my wife's G4 laptop. We're both still running 10.4.11, so we don't have Time Machine. I figured I'd just use rsync(). However, I get the error shown below. It does copy files, it just can't set the permissions. I'm doing this as root, so I should have permissions to do anything, so I suspect that it has something to do with the filesystem format. The disk came formatted out of the box, and I can't find any information on setting it up differently. Any guidance would be appreciated.

/usr/bin/rsync -E -a -x -S --delete --exclude-from backup_excludes.txt /Pictures '/Volumes/Time Capsule Disk/Backup_BigHonker/'
rsync: chgrp "/Volumes/Time Capsule Disk/Backup_BigHonker/Pictures" failed: Operation not supported (45)

Thanks.

I have the same issue, With MacOS X 10.4.11, using iBackup (free) to a Lacie Ethernet disk over AFP. Same Error.
Tried using authentication, Admin privileges, and diferent version of rsync, 2.6.9 and 3.0.4 but nothing happens. Only thing I did couldn't test is file system. Lacie uses XFS, maybe there is a problem with metadata or somthing like that...dont know...

any help will be apreciated.
