yeah there are a lot of topics about the agent 18 case and it looks like one of the best cases but i just recently checked out a case i think will be better at www.contourcase.com.

As I've posted in other threads, I'm generally happy. There are a few minor items in the manufacturing, but it certainly is very solid with the nano inside. The nano doesn't move a bit, and the case holds together very well.

You can plug into the bottom without any obstruction or removing the end piece. If you are using the dock insert that came with the nano, you do indeed need to remove the bottom piece. With just cables, you are fine.

I've removed the bottom piece a couple of times and it does not appear to do any damage, but over time, like anything, wear and tear might be a problem.

Not so far. Since the case clmaps around the nano, and only the bottom slides on, the amount of dragging on the surface is minimal. I'll keep watching it, but so far, I'm feeling happier about the nano all the time.

Of particular note, it says to "Press on sides of bottom piece to remove it". This is good advice. The bottom piece does come on an off without really dragging on the nano when you do this.

I just ordered an Agent 18 case (having previously cancelled my order over the comments about the "frosted" plastic). The pictures of the black nano don't look too bad, and they gave me 40% off in an email, so I decided to give it a try. I'll post here when I get it.

I got my agent 18 case today. I can say for certain that it fits -- very tightly -- over the Nano. I don't have any difficulty getting the bottom of the agent 18 case off, but, that said, the Nano itself goes in with some difficulty and comes back out with even more difficulty. The only way out is to depress the play button while removing the case. Conversely, putting the Nano into the case requires some finesse with the menu button. Once the Nano is in, it does not move, wiggle or anything else.

I've taken it in and out of the case a couple of times. So far no visible scratches on the Nano, but I'm wondering how many times I can take it in and out before it shows the wear and tear. Thankfully, I can dock the Nano with the case on and I can use my travel cable and charger to charge it without removing the case.

The agent 18 comes with a little piece of plastic that is just the right size for fitting over the Nano screen. Unfortunately, there is no way to get the Nano into the case with that film left in tact. They could have machined the case with an extra micron's tolerance and not had the Nano wiggle.

So far I've gotten two distinctly different cases for the Nano and I'm not 100% satisfied with either of them. By contrast, I have multiple cases for my 3-G, 4-G, and mini and they're all great.

The perfect Nano case has yet to be discovered.

Hey Marc could you tell me when you ordered the agent 18 case? I ordered it on the 13th and it still hasn't arrived.

No need to slide the nano in and out of the case. There is a coin slot on the top right corner which can be used to separate the two halves of the case. Look back at the previous messages in the thread and you'll find links to the .PDF Instructions and photos of the separate pieces.

When separated, you can insert the nano with the screen protector attached and clamp the front and back sections around it. No sliding!

I think it is a good idea to get a case for your ipod! Can you help me? I have no idea how to get album artwork to be displayed on my screen as i listen to songs, if you know how to do this then can you reply to the post that i put up called ' album artwork' its something like that. THANK YOU

Those Agent18 cases really do their job. They prevent scratches. The only problem is that dust eventually gets in and scratches the Ipod and it makes the Ipod very cumbersome. I have it for my 4G color and it works but it seems big with it.

Easier said than done. My agent18 case is SO tight that I had to use a large flat screwdriver to wedge the case open. Once I got the darned thing open, I had trouble putting it back together. The moulding wasn't as clean as I would have liked it to be. I used an emery board an an extra fine piece of sandpaper to take down the moulding marks. NOW it finally comes apart with a coin. It would have been nice if agent18 had actually included instructions along with the case. Mine came in a hanger with literally no instructions, pictures, or anything.

But thanks for telling me about the coin slot. It's a great idea in concept. The execution is just a bit poor in my case (pun intended).
