Shipping Question - important

Hi,
can somebody please tell me, if the guys who ship the ipod from the apple store will just leave it in front of your house if you're not there to pick it up personally or do they return it to some facility?
My shipping method is Parcel/Ground.

Of, found the answer. Is anybody able to acknowledge that the guys who deliver it need your signature as the apple FAQ says?

It's shipped via FedEx for us here in Hawaii and they require a signature.

Anything from Apple Stores will require a signature... even if it is a $10.00 set of ear bud foam covers.

I hear on the news about all the stuff stolen around Milwaukee, WI (South-east WI) from within UPS, it's really no surprise. iPods come in small packages and products shipped from Apple come from ASI (or something), I believe. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

I want you to know that we dont appreciate having to sign for these products. It causes your customers real hard ships. Please change this policy. or this will be the last time we order thru you. What a pain this causes. Do a customer servey and see!! You are the only company that we have delt with that has this policy.

and what would you do when your ipod doesn't turn up when you expect it to? no signature means no proof of delivery...

...no proof of delivery means you don't get your goods or your money back.

1) Apple does not read these site - if you want to tell them something, use the appropriate feedback form on the Apple website

2) as Erin points out, no signature means no help if the product is stolen or damaged in transit or many other things

so if you dont mind losing money, tell companies to not require a signature...

Having to sign for your package is a standard procedure here in Canada. It's just a safety thing I guess to be able to trace the packages' receipt incase it is reported as not delivered. Like they would leave a package worth a few hundred dollars on your doorstep!

I had it delievered to my work place, and the front desk signed for it and delivered it right to my desk. Came on my birthday too! Lovely start to a day!

It is a computer product and that means it must have a signature to protect Apple and YOU. I believe if it comes and your not there you can can and have the package rerouted to your job or arange pickup from the shipping carrier.

fedx dhl or where ever it comes from will dilver it to the post office next day or the same day make your neibours sign for it and, they will post a letter through your door explaing thats what happend to me an i am in UK, London
