FOUND WAY TO SEND MMS (PICS)

I didn't know this, but a friend showed me a way to send a picture as a text from your iPhone to another AT&T phone. This might be old news, but new for me.

(1) Select picture you want to send.
(2) Hit icon that brings up E-mail pic
(3) In the( TO: )space type the ten digit phone number you want to send pic to and put the following at the end @mms.att.net
(4) Should look like this 1234567890@mms.att.net
(5) Then Send

The picture will show up on there phone instantly as a text not an e-mail. Then they open it like a normal text pic. Tried this several times, sending pics to wifes blackjack. Worked like a charm.

Maybe this is a stupid question:

How do you get your friend's number out of contacts? With the advent of the cell phone I dont know any of their numbers. When I do as you describe and type their name in the "To" field their email address pops up, the rest of their contact info does not.

So how do you do this??? Please tell me it doesnt involve paper and pen/pencil. I know for a fact it doesn't involve copy and paste! : )~

Yes you did say number. I agree. The point I was making is that when you choose to email the pic you get the "To" field. Where normally I type a person's name. I do that because I do not have their email address memorized. The system knows when I type in "John Smith" to send it to his email address.

Under your (and the others who have posted the same information) work around---you must have memorized their actual phone number and know their cell phone carrier's domain/email info.

While it is a work-around, it's not practical.

Apple doesn't want us to text photos. And we better do what they want!
