Difficulty with projectors!

I use a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I have been using it happily since April 07, last weekend I was to give a presentation to a group of colleagues using the spectacular Keynote.

Unfortunately my computer could not recognise the projection system (I give talks regularly and this is the first time this happened) I have noticed that my computer has started to slow down a little and now this happened? I have another talk this weekend and am worried it will happen again!

I know it was my MacBook as someone else had one and theirs worked fine.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

I have a similar problem with the acer h5360. I can't connect it anymore after trying to change the resolution mode. Then a colleague of mine who uses the projector ragularly tried to show me his settings, and after clicking on the 60Hz in the pulldown menu of his system settings (that was already selected!), his ability to connect was gone as well. We were not able to re-establish a working connection to the projector.

I'm using the mini-display to DVI adaptor coupled with a DVI to HDMI cable.

Is there any way to delete the projector completely from the system as if it had never been connected or is a complete re-install of Mac OS X necessary? I'm really puzzled by this...

Hi, today, I was trying 5 hours to make my projector works and still no results... I read tons of discussions and try every possible combination. There are many "funny" comments like: try to mirror displays, gather displays and so on.. Guys this is really ****! Is there anybody who is using Macbook Pro (with minidiplayport) with any projector? I dont believe it! For this time I give up and going to use my old win notebook because this really works without any problems.

Happened twice, where I couldn't get my projector to work with my mbp13 but now it's become a moot point as the problem is fixed with no action. In other words it hasn't happened again. What I've started to do is the following:
1) MBP restart prior to connecting the projector
2) Battery charger PLUGGED IN prior to connecting the projector
3) MBP lid is OPEN

I talked with Tech Support about how my new 24" monitor wasn't supported on battery and a closed lid (they called this clam mode). He said this was acting correctly and that I needed to have the charger plugged in to support the external monitor. Since I use the same mini-port for my projector, I used the same advice for my projector issue. I really don't know if its coincidence or what. Just providing some feedback.

I have snow leopard on my hard drive, what seems to be happening is i connect the DVI to VGA cable to another VGA cable provided with the NEC NP50 projector. I do see an NP60 window, but no picture on my projection screen. if it were the cable, i wouldn't be able to see the NP60 window would i? any suggestions on how to get the picture. also are there steps to follow to get your macbook pro connected to a projector?

thanks!

Hi I have hunted around and finally went to System Preferences (suggestion in older post here) and clicked on the middle tab of the Display (arrangement) which then reveals in bottom left corner a check box next to Mirror Displays ticked (checked) it and bingo the projector showed all on my computer screen -
You would think there would be some clear instructions on this procedure in the manuals etc but thank goodness for helpful people on this service.

Cheers
