Adding a .jpeg still to an .mp3 - does it become a different format?

Just curious: When I drag an .mp3 file into an iWeb 08 page then a "Drag image here" appears. Question: If I add a still .jpeg image into the box then will the .mp3 file ultimately become a different sort of file format when it is accessed on the internet?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

The MP3 file does get converted to a movie file with or without a jpg added. If you click on the triangle at the far right you can Save as Source (MP3) or Save as Quicktime Movie when viewing the published page. I don't know about PC users and that triangle. They would have to have Quicktime for Windows installed and then I think they would download as a MP3 instead of a QT movie file.

iWeb uploads your music file as QT if you add an image. If you leave the image holder blank it will upload your file as an MP3.

You can implement a control bar only....

I stopped using QT for music files as nowadays more people are likely to have Adobe® Flash Player.

Here's a way to implement a simple flash player ....
