4G Nano and Logitech Speakers

Hi, I am thinking of getting a 4G and speakers for my daughter, does anyone have experience using the 4G with any of the following, all Logitech;

Pure-Fi Anywhere 2
Pure-Fi Anywhere
MM50

If so can you advise if a) it plays through the speakers ok via the dock (not the 3.5mm input,) b)the 4G will charge off the speakers and c) any of the adaptors will fit the 4G.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for other speakers in a similar price range that perform these functions ok and also crucially has a 3.5mm (or phono) input, preferably small(ish) and with a rechargeable battery.

Is there any way you can get to an Apple Store? I went down and looked at the speakers they're using to charge the 4G Nano, since it's now well known they are forcing people to buy new ones in order to charge. Or perhaps you can call and hopefully someone can tell you over the phone which models will charge.

This is a problem for me too as I now know I probably can't use any older models, as I'd hoped. If any of those Logitech speakers you mentioned were just released, you may be in luck. But if they're older, it may be a gamble.

Thats a pretty good idea, I tend to do most of my stuff on the net. The only problem will be if they have the various speakers in stock.

It will play through and be charged through the PureFi Anywhere 2 (it has to be the 2), don't believe the MM50 will charge a 4th gen. Can testify that the PureFi 2 will do so and sounds great.

Many thanks deggie, just one other thing do the (Apple) supplied dock adaptors fit the Anywhere 2?

Yes they do, but the PureFi comes with about 10 adaptors also.

Has anyone tried this one? It's got a good review and is stylish. No rechargable battery though.

It seems to be a new model so I'd assume it would charge, but you never know.

The picture shows an iPhone 3G docked and charging, and it lists the 4th Generation Nano as compatible.

It will work and charge.

Besides the picture on the link which YOU provided it also lists the iPods that it is compatible with (which includes the 4th Generation iPod), and their website states it is compatible with all iPhones/iPods with a dock connector, and it is newer than the PureFi Anywhere 2.

If you are that paranoid wait until it is in the stores, take your iPod and dock it.

If it weren't for all those charging problems reported, I wouldn't be so worried.

I did say I ASSUME it would charge since it's newer, but you know what happens when you do that, LOL!

P.S. It's in at Best Buy. If it doesn't work, I can easily return it there.
