WPA2 Enterprise is not available for Time Capsule

Hi,

i've used an Airport Express with my Leopard Server. The Airport Express authenticates the Wireless Network against the RADIUS on Leopard Server using WPA2 Enterprise.
Now i've bought a Time Capsule to get 802.11n. I've trying to configure my new Time Capsule with WPA2 Enterprise, but without success. In the Airport Utility 5.3.2 only "none" or "WPA2 Personal" are available.

How can i set the TC to WPA2 Enterprise?

several Apple+PC, NextStep 3.3 up to MacOSX 10.5.5

Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

It may make a difference whether the TC is generating the network, OR it has been configured to 'join an existing network' generated by the Airport Express. (Or did you mean Airport Extreme?)

How do you have your network configured?
What are the "Radio Modes" of each devise?
Is the TC in "OFF (Bridge Mode)" or is it configured to create the primary network. On the other hand you may have setup a dual network.

The above info will be helpful.

I've disabled the Airport Express (it is a old Express, not an Extreme).

I've setup the TC:
- Create wireless network
- Mode: 802.11n only (5 GHz)
- Channel: Automatic (no other selection possible)
- Security: Personal WPA2 (only "none" is also available)

- Ethernet configuration is done manually (fixed IP, connection to internet via LAN)
- Bridge Mode (Leopard Server is serving DHCP)

If i select "802.11n (802.11b/g compatible) as mode, i've also Personal WPA and WEP as security feature. But i've got never WPA2 Enterprise in the security box.

Yoshi,

Your stats don't indicate what Macs you actually have but the Airport Utlity Help document states:

+"Depending on the base station you're setting up, and the compatibilities of the wireless client computers that will join your network, choose WPA/WPA2 Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise from the Wireless Security pop-up menu."+

I'm wondering if the Mac your using doesn't support "WPA2 Enterprise".

On my own TC, I do have those options to choose from. I'm configuring it from a MacBook Pro (2008).

my Macs do WPA2 Enterprise.
I've made some Screenshots.

My Problem is, that i've only WPA2 Personal available in TC. I've also tried to add the TC with Server Manager (Radius Setup Assistant), but then the Security is "none". I'm able to enable MAC Adress security with Radius on the TC, but i'm not able to enable WPA2 Enterprise.
The Specs for TC says: "Support for Radius Authentication, IEEE 802.1X ...", so it should work.
Maybe Apple has killed the Enterprise Features with the 7.3.2 firmware regarding their newly introduced policy to kill all Enterprise Customers and only serving ****** Windows migration users....

Yoshi,

I've just figured it out! Your screen shot helped.

You need to uncheck "Allow this network to be extended". Now "WPA2 Enterprise" is available to choose.

Let me know if this resolves your issue.
