Sony VX2100 16:9 to FCE

I have been reading a lot of comments that says the Sony VX2100 does not capture well to FCE when recording in 16:9 widescreen mode with my camera. I am about to start a project and was going to record in 16:9 but now I am having some second thoughts. Does anyone have any experience with this camera and editing in FCE or some suggestions to get improved quality when preparing for this project?

That's not true. If it works in 4:3, it'll work in 16:9. There is zero difference in the capture process if the correct settings are used.

Just wondering about the picture quality when going to 16:9, many people complain that these camera's shoot better in 4:3 and vertical resolution is lost when going to widescreen because 16:9 on many camera's is not real? I am not a pro and but want to make sure I use my camera and FCE to the best of there capacity. Thanks.

Why not just take your camera out in the garden, street etc. and shoot a few minutes of footage in both 4:3 and 16:9 to see which is better.

To ensure the test is fair try to make sure the lighting and subjects are the same and where possible use a tripod to ensure any unsteadiness on your part does not spoil the pictures.
