I'm surprised that few people have commented on what must be a common problem. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to clean the lanyard? In working outside or participating in sports, I find that my lanyard cord is turning beige (to put it delicately). I've tried bleaching & that didn't work very well. I've searched other posts and not really found a good answer.
Good to discover other people are having the same problem. Call me dim, but the earphones don't separate from the lanyard itself, so are you actually throwing the whole thing, earphones and all into the washing machine? Please email me at ptaylor@canada.fcb.com
You could just chuck it into the washing machine. Afterall, the lanyard contains no electrical parts. Just make sure to dry it out first by sticking some tissue in the cap.
Or, you can buy some new ones from the Apple Store for $19 i think.
Can the lanyard actually go in the washing machine? I assume not because of the cap attached to it. Please let me know if you did this and it worked. Mine is beyond beige, its almost grey!
