Ditto. My wife and I have had the 3G for 6 weeks. We had the old iPhone from the very beginning also. No problems with apps whatsoever.
Yesterday, I came back from 3 days in Australia and not one single iPhone app will work on either of our phones. My wife said the problems started about 3 days ago on her phone.
Among others, the following apps will not load. NY Times,AP Media News, Mandarin, AIM (AOL IM), Pilot Wiz, Heat, Slate, French, Weather Bug ....
iTunes and App Store load and work fine. All icons that link to websites work fine, Safari works fine in all respects.
The only thing I can think of is that we both still have Op Sys 2.0.1 because neither of our Dell systems with Vista Business can download and/or install the new iPhone OS. Apple trouble shooters have given up trying to figure that one out.
All I know is that I love the iPhone but never had any of these problems with Treo or Blackberry phones. Based on all of the problems thoudands of users are having, something is fundamentally wrong with the iPhone OS and Apple isn't being straightforward or proactive in dealing with these issues.
Growing weary of the Apple "Alfred E. Newman - What Me Worry?" style of business. When something this big is wrong, just say so and state that Apple is working as fast as possible to rectify it. Keeping consumers in the dark is not a corporate trait worthy of anyone's respect.
