Shuffle and Equalizer

I thought that you can change the equalizer settings of songs in the itunes library,so that it is transfered to the shuffle. But when I choose, for example "loudness" then I hear the change when I play the song out of the itunes library, but the sound doesn´t change on the ipod. When I change the settings of the equalizer, itunes is saying that it is updating my shuffle and that I must not disconnect. When updating, itunes shows that it is the title I changed the equalizer settings for.But there is no difference when playing songs of the ipod.I thought that you can adjust the sound over the equalizer of itunes cause the shuffle doesn´t have an EQ.What is it for when it is not affecting the sound.Normal ipods have their own EQ.So there it is not necessary.
Can someone help me.

So...somewhat related question: Then what does Sound Enhancer do?

I've Googled and the only info I can easily find is about how I should turn it off to solve this or that problem. It must have a function, or at least a purported one ; )

I bought the Griffin earbud attachments so that the Shuffle's headphones wouldn't fall out of my ears constantly, and they really muffle the sound. I was hoping to at least partially solve that through EQ. There has to be an way easier than EQing source files!

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Dogan, I think you confused Sound Enhancer with another function, I think it's called Auto Volume Leveling or something. What Sound Enhancer actually does I am not sure. What I can notice is that when Sound Enhancer turned on, stereo imaging tend to be wider (clearer seperation between left and right speaker), and some more bass and treble. I am not sure if this setting can be transported into shuffle or not.
