I have the same issue with the sound of the click on the new trackpad. It's REALLY loud as opposed to my older MacBook Pro which nearly silent.
The button is also WAY harder to click than the original MBP. In fact, it's so much harder to click, after prolonged use my wrist is starting to hurt. This never happened to me before on any of my other Macs. I've had a 17" PowerBook G4 and the original Core Duo MacBook Pro. None of those had difficult to press or loud buttons.
I'm worried that I'm going to start having some real serious wrist problems with this new machine. I love the speed, the style, and I really like the keyboard. But the trackpad button is driving me crazy.
I sure hope it will get easier to press over time. I've tried using the Tap to Click feature, but that never works very well for me. I constantly end up selecting things and opening things I had never intended on accessing.
I wonder if they are all like that? Maybe it could be swapped out for a trackpad with a lighter touch on the button.
Thanks,
Brendan
