trackpad click sound, how does yours sound?

Hi, just wondering if everyones trackpad has a fairly loud click sound when being pressed, when you are doing a lot of clicking it can get pretty annoying, just wondering if everyone else's trackpad is the same, and if so will it go away after more use? I wish it was silent!

I have the same issue with the sound of the click on the new trackpad. It's REALLY loud as opposed to my older MacBook Pro which nearly silent.

The button is also WAY harder to click than the original MBP. In fact, it's so much harder to click, after prolonged use my wrist is starting to hurt. This never happened to me before on any of my other Macs. I've had a 17" PowerBook G4 and the original Core Duo MacBook Pro. None of those had difficult to press or loud buttons.

I'm worried that I'm going to start having some real serious wrist problems with this new machine. I love the speed, the style, and I really like the keyboard. But the trackpad button is driving me crazy.

I sure hope it will get easier to press over time. I've tried using the Tap to Click feature, but that never works very well for me. I constantly end up selecting things and opening things I had never intended on accessing.

I wonder if they are all like that? Maybe it could be swapped out for a trackpad with a lighter touch on the button.

Thanks,

Brendan

i dunno if i'm alone..
but please tell me if you have the same thing going on:

a. the top of the trackpad does not click at all
b. different sides of the trackpad are elevated higher/lower
c. if i use the tap, and i tap on the left half of the trackpad, it is weird low-quality-manufacturing sounding
d.if i click on the right, it's harder to click on the left

IT'S VERY VERY ANNOYING
IS THIS REASON TO EXCHANGE?

Well I exchanged mine today, as it had 3 knick marks around the trackpad, and the speaker grills were rough to the touch and had a reside in them, the new Macbook Pro I got does have a noticeably quieter trackpad click than my first one, still makes a click sound put is much quieter. I am now very happy with my Macbook Pro!!! Thanks Apple, they exchanged it with no questions asked!!

ppmov,

Don't quote me on this but I don't think the top of the trackpad is supposed to click. I think it is somewhat on a hinge or something supported at the top and I believe the button being pressed is actually at the bototm. On my other half's MacBook, it physically requires more pressure to click the button as you move up the pad.

Still waiting for my 2.8 to come in on Monday though so I cannnot yet report on a MBP.
