Double "tap" instead of single "tap"

Is there a way to change the iphone so that you have to double tap on a contact to make a call. Sometimes I will accidentally hit a contact and it will automatically call that person. If you were able to use a double tap then that would not happen.

There is no user-controllable setting for that. When you tap a contact in your recent calls or favorites list, it dials that contact. When you tap a contact name in the contacts list, it brings up all the info for that contact, and you then need to tap the phone number to dial.
