completley reseting the iPod 30GB

I'm giving away my old iPod - don't know what generation, but the one with the 4 buttons below the screen.
I want to completely restore the iPod, with nothing left inside.
I managed to get rid of the music, but how do I empty the calendar and the adress book?

Thanks for any hints.

Open Updater and RESTORE the iPod to Factory settings. That reformats the iPod, wipping out everything.

If you want to be extra sure that it's gone, use a disk utility to erase (pick, clean format, low level format, zero all data or whatever your utility has ... and then do the iPod RESTORE.

I really don't think the latter step is necessary.
