External Cherry keyboard on Macbook Pro

Hi,

I've bought me a new macbook pro to develop on. Since it doesn't have a numeric, I bought me an 'Cherry keyboard'. Yet I can't get it to work. It is an azerty. I can type on it but 'special' keys like the @, \, €, ... are all on different places. I don't even find the [[ and ]], wich are highly needed to develop 🙂

How can I configure the keyboard ? I've tried different layouts but none work (be, fr, ...)

Also: I use an external screen. Is it possible to make that the Macbook Pro doesn't go to sleep when I close it, so it doesn't have to be open while I work?

Thanx!

Kind regards,

mtjs.

Use an external keyboard and mouse with it and it won't go to sleep when the external display is connected. You can use either wireless or good ol' fashioned wired versions of each 🙂
