Im certainly not expert on the subject, but it sounds like you have a software corruption issue.

I've seen two similar incidents occur.
The only solution that i know helped to those problems was to partition your drive.

Meaning, reinstall OS X.
This will erase all of your information and make your computer 'right out of the box'.

I bought a Macbook in Sept. this year. I suddenly have the same problem. It won't turn on, yet the battery is fully charged. I've tried everything. I had downloaded an album from the website emusic. It was in the sleep mode and seconds after I opened it, the screen went black and I couldn't turn it on!!!! I'm so frustrated. Did you download anyhing recently?

Hi, this happened to my sister's MacBook exactly as gfdagVGFE tells it.

Computer died on her.
Restarted.
Grey window pops up asking to restart.
Dead.
Power button.
Screen flashes white.
Screen black (off black - not dark light).
No chime.
White indicator light is on solid.
DVD drive whirrs.
Dead. Dodo-style.

As the machine wasn't even loading any boot 'stuff' I figured hardware, so I flipped it over pulled the battery, found my set of miniature screw drivers, and unscrewed the L bracket. Took the ram out, wiped the contacts, re-inserted them firmly, put everything back.

Ta-da. Job done.

On reflection, the ram might not have looked as secure when I took it out as when I put it back in, so it might have become dislodged somehow. Or 6 months ago when I installed it, I just didn't push hard enough, and it survived until now by magic.

If this isn't the problem that pjhcycle is having then I would point him/her to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1365

I have the same issue - about 2 months ago it won't turn on I had it repaired and apparently it needed a new logic board. Now I'm having the same issue again! I was watching a tv show on line and all of a sudden it shut down by itself. I tried turning it back on - I can see the white indicator but it will only stay there for a second.

I don't know know what to do?

I need help!!!!!
