Cannot Connect to iTunes Store?

As of last night, I cannot connect to the iTunes store. I get a message saying "iTunes cannot connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out". My network and internet are working just fine (all other applications that require internet connect run fine as well). I ran the diagnostic and it says "Secure Link to iTunes Store failed". I have tried everything the help button told me to do and nothing worked. Here's part of the diagnostic report:

Firewall Information

Windows Firewall is on.
iTunes is enabled in Windows Firewall.

Connection attempt to Apple web site was unsuccessful.
The network connection timed out.
Connection attempt to iTunes Store was unsuccessful.
The network connection timed out.
Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was unsuccessful.
The network connection timed out.
Secure connection attempt to iPhone activation server unsuccessful.
The network connection timed out.
Last successful store access was 2008-11-02 23:08:43.

Same problems here but it is even getting worse.

The items I purchased via season pass got announced via e-mail and than attempted to download which failed and now I have the same HD episode 5 times my donwload queue.

The items I attempted to purchase (before I noticed a major problem) actualy have been deducted from my balance but can't be found via "check for download" nor are they in the purchase history.

And sending an e-mail to Apple won't help, they need phone support!

Itunes version 8.0.1.11 on Windows and also on Mac!

Well, you may have to buy from napster. (I am a turncoat. I now buy from Napster if the track is not DRM-free in iTunes). With that said, the itunes version of what I want has extra tracks - enough to sway me to buy the DRM version from iTunes. I now wish I would have not even bothered... I've been waiting for this album's release (today) and now I can't get it. GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Same here in Northern New Jersey. When I sign in to my account, the sign-in fails and states, "Could not purchase "App Name". The network connection timed out." I cannot download on my iPhone through the AppStore, either.

What a freaking mess!! I can't believe that this crap is still going on with Apple. Can't they get their crap together?

And the fact that nobody monitors these issues or responds on this official forum is ludicrous. I have been having this issue for over 10 hours!!
