Imposcar issues...

I think you probably have only deleted the standalone app, and not the AU-plugin. The plugin should be in 'YourHD'/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder or in the 'YourHD'/Users/'youraccount'/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder, and is probably called imposcar(demo?).component. And in either the 'YourHD'/Library/Preferences folder or the 'YourHD'/Users/'youraccount'/Library/Preferences folder there is a file with the words imposcar.plist in it. Thrash that too.
To uninstall something, it is best to use a simple uninstaller app, that traces files like prefs (.plist) that are asssociated with the app and need to be deleted as well. I use AppCleaner: http://www.pure-mac.com/diag.html#appcleaner.
