Bent my macbook :(

Ive had it for two days.

I dont know if anybody else does this, but if I need to move my laptop I'll pick it up by one hand on either the left or the right side. Anyway... I picked it up on the left side with my thumb over the ethernet port and bent the chassis slightly. You cant see it but you can sure feel it, I also have a few little depressions in the left speaker grill from my fingers. Also if you hold it one handed on the right side it bends the superdrive slot slightly.

I just wanted to let people know that this isnt as "robust" as one might think.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 2nd gen

Aha! Many thanks for the links, Kenneth. So now we know that if one is lucky enough to run over one's MBP in exactly the right way, and one isn't fussy about details like a smashed display, mangled case, and various curvatures and apertures not found in the machine's specifications, one may be able to draw a crowd by demonstrating that the MBP has "survived" — not exactly with flying colors, but at least with the ability to beep and burp a little. This is an important selling point, as I'm sure we all agree.

I never knew picking up a MBP was considered abuse! I always try to carry it without putting too much pressure on one side, and it has been that way since the first day i bought it. But, I know a day will come when I will b at school and juggling books and such and without thinking, i will pick it up by one side. Maybe we should put a huge sticker on saying, "don't touch me if you don't plan on picking me up with 2 hands!"
