Apple logo GONE from the command key?

Why has the Apple icon been removed from the Command key? I miss it.
Is this to be more PC friendly for new MacBook customers?
Any theories?

The shiny LCD screen is the worst. Is this also for new PC to MAC peeps?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 2 GHz

The screen has nothing to do with PC to Mac customers. But it feels weird and creepy that you seem to refer to new switchers as if they were second-class citizens. :-/

For a couple years now, they've been offering the option of matte screen or glossy.

Matte has a coating on the screen to reduce glare, the down side is it softens the blacks. And since most colors contain some black level, it softens almost all the colors.

Glossy doesn't have that coating, and as a result the colors really pop, and the blacks are deeper (better contrast ratio overall). The down side is it's shiny - like most TV's.

Apple says that over the last couple years, glossy has been outselling matte by a wide margin. TV and HDTV sales figures would also indicate that people (all people, not just PC users) really like that high contrast stuff. And with the backlit LED screen, it's even more of a dazzler that can overcome the reflections more often than not.

After having spent some time playing around with the new systems, I'm extremely impressed with the glossy screen. I went from curmudgeon who wished he could get a matte screen to being a huge fan. I don't think I've had to turn the brightness beyond even 50%, and that's in full daylight with overhead lighting. What I do notice is that the reflections on the black borders (which are glossy because it's the same piece of glass) stand out. If I'm sitting there focusing on that, man are they noticeable. But when I'm actually doing my computing, I never notice it at all - probably because my attention is focused on the part of the screen that's got all my programs running.

As for the logo on the command key.. yeah, I miss it too.
