clock discrepancy

I have a 1 month old laptop and a year and 1 1/2 year old imac that I have just installed Leopard upon.
The 2 computers do not show the same time on the clock in the right hand corner. The laptop and my cellphone agree but the desktop is 3 1/2 minutes different. How do I get the correct time on all three -the cell phone (not iphone) the imac and the laptop

imac/laptop, Mac OS X (10.5.5), both computers have leopard

On the computers you can set the 'Date & Time' system preference to 'Set date & time automatically'. This should sync the two of them.

The phone is a different matter... that should be set from the service provider I think, and if not, you'll have to set it right yourself with some nimble fingerwork 🙂

I have checked the auto settings for the two computers and they both have set time automatically but they are still 3 1/2 minutes apart...even with the automatic time set

To see if the automatic setting is working, on each computer, uncheck the Set Date and Time automatically box, and purposely set the clocks incorrectly, manually. Now recheck the Automatic setting box and see what happens. Be sure you have the correct Time Server chosen in the dropdown box on the right.
If the time does not correct itself in a very short time, on one or both machines, then the auto setting is not working.
