yeah this is crap. i paid so much money for my phone, i acpect apple to fix these problems with windows. just because its made by apple doesnt meen that they shouldnt fix the problems with windows. ARGH!
Ok, so im using Windows XP with iTunes 8 and im having the exact same problem. Every time i try to purchase anything from the store it will ask me to log in, which i do so. I will enter my password and then accept the terms and conditions and after i have done so, i go to the page where it says 'your session has times out. Please try this operation again from the beginning.' I have called itunes once yestersay (December 14), once today (December 15), and emailed them today. All three times they assured me the iTunes is down. So my guess is that its not anyones computer settings, so dont bother with changing your time zone or uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. We're just going to have to wait for apple to fix the proble. Frustrating i know, but its all we can do.
Well, not sure whom you talked to but i know for a fact i fixed this problem on one computer by changing the time zone. once i did that then it all started working properly. once i found that out i told others and they did the same and their itunes started working correctly. and of course changing their time zone wouldn't fix the itunes store itself, so it must be somehow related to their computers individually.
so, i'm not sure with whom you spoke but myself and others here aren't having any problem whatsoever with the itunes store. you may need to be more persistent with them if it doesn't get resolved quickly and you have checked all the other settings on your machine.
good luck on getting it figured it. it's gotta be frustrating, i know.
yeap... you should not stop on the time zone alone.. u should really change your internet time zone as he says. coz it worked for me... 😀 good luck everyone...
I had the same problem. This is how I solved it:
Remove the digital copy disc from your computer.
Open iTunes and click on the "iTunes Store" so it logs you in.
Then I put the disc back in, selected it under Devices, entered my redemption code, and it worked.
I had tried to redeem my digital copy code without accessing the iTunes Store first and got the Session Timedout message over and over again.
Whoever came up with time zone changes is a genious! My zone was correct, but I changed it to another one, then changed it back to what it was and it worked! THANK YOU!
