When i try to redeem an iTunes gift card or make a new iTunes account, it says.

Session Timeout.
Your session has timed out. Please try this operation again from the beginning.

I restarted iTunes, my computer, everything, does anyone know what's wrong?

    Try turning off any firewalls (in Windows, Norton, McAfee and whatever you've got) and trying it again. Also turn off any pop-up blockers.


    You can alwyas turn them back on - it's just a quick test ot see if other software is bloicking the connection.

    I am doing everything I can, including deleting itunes and reinstalling it, and I still get the same error message when I try to buy a song that says: SESSION TIMEOUT your session has timed out. Please try this operation again from the beginning. I just want to buy some songs for goodness sake!!!

    Don't feel too bad! I am experiencing the same thing. Its soo frustrating to say the least. Maybe, its a glitch that is happening with the system itself?!

    Yeah, I don't know if this is a Vista problem, but this is really frustrating me. Apple needs to step up to the plate here.

    Possible solution:
    Thanks to Troy from another related thread. Check to make sure your time zone is correctly set. It doesn't matter if the time is correct, but the wrong time zone will stop access to itunes for some reason.



    *Same problem here. I've been unable to connect since the 10th! Yesterday I couldn't even get iforgot to load so I could reset my passoword. It won't even let me view account info. GRRR! Any support personnel out there than can enlighten us?*

    I have zero knowledge of Itunes and every time I attempt to "Redeem" the code to get a digital copy of "The Dark Knight" and it says session timed out I have absolutely no idea how to fix it and so I need some detailed instructions because I have no knowledge of itunes

    Yeah, I'm still getting the same thing. I fixed my time zone, but I'm still getting errors. I don't understand because my iTunes has worked fine for well over a year on the computer. It also won't let me view my account details and keeps repeating the login screen over and over.

    It's not your machines... I emailed Apple support and was told the following..

    "Since your last email, I have been informed that what you are experiencing is an emerging issue which is causing some of our customers some difficulty.

    Rabid, it seems this is an issue which Apple is currently looking into. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."

    When I get another Email from Apple I will let you all know what I hear. Peace.

    im also having problems. but its when i try and turn my genius playlist. when i try and login it says "your registration session timed out"

    You know, I tried to report this problem, but every time I go to view my account I get the authorization screen that continually pops up when I sign in. I even tried resetting my password and it's obviously working if I could sign in here.
