Apple Community History

Hi Everyone: I am a Community Manager, and really admire the Apple Community. I would like to follow some of Apple's best practices in providing support forums. If this is allowed and if I am not asking any information that is private, then I would really appreciate if anyone, (specially an Apple representative) could tell me how long has the apple community been in existance? Whether it is run through the Support organization or Marketing organization, and how many apple reps are providing technical answers on the forums on a regular basis.

Thank you so much in advance

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "Apple Community" but the earliest incarnation of the Apple Discussions, Apple's forums for users to assist other users, dates back to about 2000; I don't remember the exact date.

No idea, sorry.

None. Apple does not provide official technical support through the Discussions. Apple employees do post technical suggestions from time to time, but they do so on their own time and as private individuals, not as official representatives of Apple.
