New MacBook Pro and MOTU Ultralite Mk.3

I've just ordered a new MacBook Pro, and have been using a Presonus FireStudio Project, but have had problems with the drivers, and so am about to return it. Is anyone using a new MacBook Pro (late 2008) with a MOTU Ultralite Mk.3? I'm curious as to how stable the drivers are, and how good the connection is via the FireWire 800 to 400 cable adaptor... Any feedback would be much appreciated.

From MOTU website:

I don't see any reason why the 800 to 400 cable wouldn't work. I use several MOTU interfaces with several kind of Mac (desktop and laptop) and it's always been rock-solid.

Same here. . .

I have a 2 year old MacPro with MOTU's 2408 MK3 audio device "communicating" with a MacBook Pro (early 2008!) via MOTU's 828 MK3 (Firewire, of course). All works quite well. 🙂

I've contacted MOTU and they assured me that the new MBP's work perfectly with the Ultralite Mk3.

Great news. Now to return my Presonus FireStudio project...

I can verify the UltraLite will work with your MacBook Pro. I switched from the FireBox to it with no problems.
