Well...some players just won't play them. I'd try the disc in another player just to see if it works. Otherwise you could try converting the files to MP3 and burning an MP3 disc to see if that will work in your player. Be advised that if your files are not MP3, iTunes won't convert them to burn them to an MP3 disc. You must convert them first.
I had the same problem with different cd brands that worked fine before the "upgrade" to iTunes 8.
Here's what seemed to do the trick.
I switched off "Genius" (Yes I did and I intend to keep it that way).
I reduced the burn speed to 16 x and deselected cd text and volume levelling.
Now my cd plays perfectly in the car cd player.
One suggestion for Apple.
Rename Genius into Genie (bad one that escaped fom the bottle).
I also am having this issue! I am running iTunes 7.7.1 (11) and am burning using the Audio Disc mode. The confounding thing is, I have burned four discs with iTunes. One has worked in my car audio system. I have heard of issues with burning at fast speeds, so on the last one I burned at 1x. Yet that disc still did not play. Any tips?
I am using Memorex CD-Rs. I have tried burning at 32x, 16x, and 1x, none of which have worked. I also tried using the programme Burn (instead of iTunes) with the same effect: an "Err" message on my vehicle's CD player...
I am rapidly coming the the conclusion that it may be my car stereo's fault... It played in a Sony CD/DVD player and in a Sony CD changer... But it is a mystery why some discs play and some don't. I would think it is due to the .aiff file format, but it plays other discs burned with iTunes. It is somewhat old (1999), and it is possible that the CD changer is going out. Perhaps I will test using other CD slots...
