Save Keynote as an image

Hi everyone.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but i'm slightly unsure of where it would go.

I'm wanting to know if it's possible to create your slide with custom images and text next to them
and be able to save it as an image. The reason for this is i have installed a forum on my server and want to creat my own logo with text next to or under it and then be able to upload it to the server.
I just thought it would be easier to do this in keynote.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Keynote can indeed export to various image formats -- create your slide, then under the File menu, choose Export.

However, an even simpler method may be to simply use Command-Shift-4 to take a screenshot of the portion of the slide with your desired graphic.

Thats brilliant Thanks so much.

Could i ask another question. If i have an image i like set up in keynote, is there a way that i can have the background set to transparent, so that its only the picture that would show and no background colour. ??

If you copy the image in Keynote, you can then open Preview and select "New from Clipboard" to paste the image, and save it as a PDF. That will preserve the transparency. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to save such transparency in a web-friendly bitmapped format such as GIF or PNG, at least not without using a third-party graphics app such as Graphic Converter or Photoshop.

I've been successfully using Skitch to convert those .pdf's to bitmaps.

Just download and install the free public beta, copy your artwork out of Keynote, Paste into Skitch then set it's background to transparent. When you drag and drop from Skitch, your bitmap will have the transparent background you'd expect.
