It's been a while since I tried SuperDuper, in fact, I tried the paid version on my eMac prior to getting my Mac Pro (8/2007). So I don't know if Shirt Pocket has changed anything in all that time. Back then, I think I was having trouble "accepting" their idea of "sandboxing." So it was just a matter of my own preferences (and prior familiarity with CarbonCopyCloner).
I've heard nothing negative about SuperDuper, so I'm going to say it is worth looking into since "my preferences" certainly aren't the last word for everyone. As I recall, SuperDuper "worked as advertised" - so many may find it fits their needs. 🙂
Also, I have had to learn a lot of "new stuff" since getting the Mac Pro: which in this case means I haven't the time (with new pursuits like digital photography and video making) to go back and give any app a second try. It may be I'm missing out on something: but CCC has been a reliable cloning and backup app for my needs.
I should add (for perspective) that I got a new wireless LaCie (1 TB) drive for Xmas and the supplied backup software ( by Intego) proved "really a problem" - I never got it to work consistently. It never (for example) did do a full backup. When the "free" version supplied didn't work, Intego recommended I get the paid "Pro" version: I did that and it was not any better. Not a good thing for an app that was supposedly tailored to backing up to a wireless drive.
I found (again!) that good old CCC worked just fine for the new wireless drive. (I run backups about once a week - not scheduled - just whenever I've added or subtracted files on the source drive. )
Sorry - I know you only asked about SuperDuper, but I hope the additional info I've given does help someone.
