My Ipod will not play songs, it just skips from song to song

I have a 3rd Generation 15GB iPod, for some reason it will not play certain songs. When I select a song rather than playing my iPod will keep skipping from song to song. After a while my iPod will then jump back to the main menu and not play any music. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be extremely appreciated. Thanks.

hey i had that same problem on my 3rd generation ipod and when i brought it in they said i burnt the hard drive out on it.

I have the same problem too..!!! but the songs play for 3- 20 seconds and then the next one starts! 😟 any ideas how to fix it? i restored the ipod and i have the same problem again..!

every now and then i will have the same problem with mine. have u tried resetting it?

my ipod is a 20gb two months old and it skips over a couple of song and then plays any sugestions?

I had this problem after I updated I tunes. I fixed it by deauthorizing the computer and then authorizing it again and then updating my ipod and that worked
