Does the iTouch have a mic?

It is available with the Ear buds itself. The iPod Touch itself does not include a Microphone port like the iPhone has.

Those are just to name a few. There is allot to choose from. So once Microphone support for iPod Touch is released if and when is unknown. Then you could possible use those Apps.

Are there other headphone/mic combo products that work with the touch? If so, what brand and models?

I have a 32 gb 2nd gen ipod touch, and i bought a $9.00 pair of headphones with mic from ebay and they work wonderfuly.

The 2nd gen has mic input capabilites already and i use a free voice record app and it also works well.
I got the headphones w/mic mostly for the apps like ocarina and such because more apps are supposed to be made compatible with the 2nd gen touches because of the mic abilities

Can you use a regular mic with the touch or does it have to be a headphone/mic combo unit?

Thats something i honestly do not know for sure. Its something i would like to know myself and if i can find a standalone mic with the right plug i will try it.

Belkin has a great product called Tune Tak stereo. Plugs into doc port. works perfect with my nano. Very disapointed iTouch 1G cant hear it. Are you thinking with the new update I will be able to record
