Not able to register a free account at itunes store (with screen shots)

Just bought a ipod touch from Argos last Saturday, and I'm really interested in getting some of the very handy free apps.

I really like the idea of apple invite programmers to develop applications together.

However, I soon found out that I wasn't able to create a free itune store account.

I followed this instruction closely. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 But the register system just doesn't like it.

I have been trying to register on there since Saturday night. Here is a screen shot of the error. http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kagamisuki/a-5.jpg

Could anyone help me with this please.

Thank you

Dear Daz,

I understand that you were unable to create an account as you were asked for credit card information even though you had selected the none payment option. I know how upsetting this can be and I would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.

Thank you for your patience, Daz. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible. Enjoy your day!

I think they will rezolve the problem 🙂

Hi,

So sorry, dont get upset! But this is the same answer we've gotten from Apple since November 25th. See the image:

I think it is auto-reply message.. or something like this invented by Steve Jobs..

Apple has abandoned us. They doesnt care anymore.

As I heard it in somewhere: "You can count with Apple products, but dont count with Apple Support." (something like that)

I've actually had a real person respond. Not an auto-reply robot.
but she just cleared things up I guess. Basically, she said there is no possible way to get an iTunes account without a gift card of a credit card.

here's the latest email:
Hi Sam,

Ashley, here. I see that you wanted to know if there is any other way to create an account with payment method as you do not have a credit card and cannot buy a gift card. I would be glad to expand further for you.

I am so sorry, but it is not possible to create an account without a credit card or gift card. This is because the iTunes Store needs an automatic method to charge the account. Also even free items require credit card authorization if there is not store credit on the account. Store credit is accumulated by redeeming iTunes Store gift cards or certificates.

I hope I have been able to further clarify and explain this process, Sam. But if there are any further concerns that you would like addressed, I would be glad to assist you as best I can. It has been a pleasure. Please take care and have a great holiday season.

With Warm Regards,

 Ashley
