iPod Nano 2nd Gen Click Wheel not working

My iPod Nano 2nd Gen's Click Wheel is not working anymore. Last Wednesday (a week ago) I charged it with my stereo. I do that every time it needs to be charged, unless I have some new songs. It still worked. Last Monday, on my way to school, I couldn't switch my iPod on, the whole Click Wheel was dead. So when I arrived home, I checked the support page, put it in my stereo and it went on. I tried to select a song, didn't work. Then I did the 5 R's a couple of times, still dead. Then I put it in my stereo again, still the same. The Hold button does work, though. I tried to clean beneath the Click Wheel with my fingernail, doesn't doe anything. But it seems that the Wheel sound is less loud. Especially where the Play/Pause button is.

I had the same exact problem and here's how I fixed it...
My click wheel stopped working and I had tried the 5R's and it didn't work.
*Before I continue I want to say that I do not recommend this procedure unless you're willing to take all responsibility for any damage caused to your ipod. I'm only sharing what I did and how I fixed the problem. *
I figured the problem might be caused because of dirt, moisture, or grime under the click wheel. I tried taking my 3G nano ipod apart but I couldn't even crack the case open. so here's what I did:
I turned the ipod upside down and poured about 10 to 20 drops of rubbing alcohol into the charging port.
then I shook the unit hard for a bit until the alcohol worked it's way into the unit.
By now I thought I had destroyed it because the LCD screen looked wet. But the click wheel started working and the screen was working... so I figured everything was fine. I let it sit overnight and the alcohol dried up and now my ipod nano works perfectly!
Again, I don't recommend doing this unless you're willing to take a chance and are not afraid of losing the unit.
