I replaced my hard drive now the computer won't load operating system

I replaced my hard drive in my Powerbook G4 1.25 and it will not load the operating system, just locks up after it starts running. I ran the hardware test on the original disk and everything is suppose to be working. What can i do to fix the problem? HELP!

How about thinking out of the box for a moment. If you just replaced the HD, do you have the old one? I suggest getting an external case (try other world computing, I also suggest getting one with firewire, 800 if your CPU has that), put the old drive in it. Connect using a firewire cable, restart you computer holding down the option key. Choose the external drive to boot. Then use Carbon Copy cloner to clone your old hard disk to the new one. You will have the same OS with updates instead of what's on the original disks, and all your apps will be installed, along with all your files. Shut down, disconnect the external drive, and start again, go to sys preferences to choose startup drive. This will take much less time that how you trying to do it.
