Problems downloading iTouch 2.2 Update

I'm having the same problem. I keep downloading the update and getting the same message. I'm not going to mess with it anymore and wait til it is fixed.

Same problem here. Tried installing at least ten times and it gets to about 3/4 completion when it "times out", even though my connection is fine.

Seems like many others having the same problem. Please, we need help with this issue.

Do we realle need to upgrade to 2.2?

Every update is important cause lot of bugs get fixed. I experience the same problem with 2.2 firmware, is there is an answer for that problem? I had the same problem for 2.0 as well, but after lot of failure attempts I finally updated (without changing smthng). Does 2.2 fixes the VPN problem?

having the same problem. pleeeeeeaaaassse somebody help! i am seeing a theme everyone who has this problem is using windows opposed to mac.

make sure your itunes software is up to date. If it is, uninstall and reinstall itunes and then try to update to 2.2

Update is downloading, but at the "end" an error message appears: time out in network connection. But the connection is ok; I've tried may times onn different days and also communicate this problem with Apple Netherlands but got no reaction at all!

I have tried to download the 2.2 update on Mac, vista and xp. It all gives me the same error after downloading about 1.5megs. Has anyone got a solution? Really frustrated!

I had the same problem and tried to download 2.2 for days. I got my computer guy from work to help me. He disabled my firewall and andivirus software and downloaded it again. It took forever(hours)to complete it, but it worked. Something to try.

I tried several things as I had the same problem. My problems first were could not complete restore, could not find iPod, lost communication during update and required file not found. So I uninstalled the new iTunes and reinstalled it. Same problem occured. I even tried reseting to factory settings still no luck. I found one suggestion to change the USB port you are using. I did that and in iTunes I clicked on my iPod and asked it to set up as new iPod for this computer. It gave me the name of my existing iPod I had tried to restore after the upgrading to 2.2...IT WORKED. It was all my original settings. Bad news I had to manually select which music to add and pictures but I had not been able to restore it to usable functionality so I was thrilled. Dont know if that will help but its worth a try if all other options have not worked.

I love MAC but wish someone there would see that this is a MAJOR BUG!

I have a similar problem, when I tell it to update it goes through the whole "I agree / Decline" stages and when it tries to download it, I get this message:

"There was a problem downloading the iPod software for iPod '<Name>'. You do not have access to that resource.
Make sure that your network settings and network connection is active, or try again later."

I can obviously access the internet fine, I can sinc my iTouch, and all of my firewalls are down, what do I do allmighty apple?
