My new MacBook Pro display screen is blinking or flickering every few minutes now. I've only noticed it when I've switched to the integrated 9400M graphics processor. I don't recall seeing any blinks when using the discrete 9600M GPU. Usually it is only the top half or so of the display that blinks or flickers for a split second. Anyone else having the same problem?

hotplug - what do you use to make/restore clones? can you give me step by step instructions? I tried to use superduper, but didn't know how to restore from the dmg.
just use timemachine.. i bet that is the easiest way and it will restore all of your settings.. even small things like ratings in itunes.. just everything all the programs with its settings..
kongnator, have you seen the
Tavio's message on page 12?
+HI Everyone,+
+So I spoke to an Apple MacBook Pro product specialist and engineer, and they both felt the issue is a hardware problem rather than software. They had me go in to my local Apple Store for a swap. I oringinally had a 9C84 screen and now have a 9C85 screen WITH absolutely no problems (no flickering) and NO light leakage, which is usually the case with the 9C85 screens. I prefer the 9C85 screens as, per my experience, are not as yellow and display truer color. The blacks are really black, unlike the gray tones on the 9C84.+
+It's a W89 (11th week of the year) model. I have been running on my replacement unit for a few days now. I will keep you posted on any updates. Glad to have been able to land me a good unit after over a dozen replacements, I kid you not. Keeping my fingers crossed....I wish you all the best.+
hotplu, yes i read that.. thank you. its just my eyes are extremely sensitive. that 2b and 4b still flickers tells me the display is not ok. i have done checks with older apple products and dell and it NEVER flickered.
so i believe my eyeburns i have come from the flicker, even if its not to be seen, it is still there.. maybe the brain doesnt perceive it as such because it is not obvious like on brightness 2-5 on 84.. but its still there. this screen test link is not to show and disprove displays, its to test if theyre working withing the specs they should..
i ve read other forums in german, from people experiencing the same as me (eyeburn, headache etc) with all of the new line macs (nvidia chips). so i believe it is rather an nvidia problem than a screen problem.. even tho different screen might have more or less flicker, it is there.. that might also explain why your cine display flickers too..
